About JULIE
the preservation origin story
In 1996, I was freelancing for several architectural firms in the Atlanta area. I was doing a wide range of project types and scopes. One of my favorite clients had asked me to drive up to Rome, Georgia and document some historic shutters on the Darlington School. It was a beautiful spring day, wildflowers were in bloom and I was in heaven as I sat there soaking in every detail of the mortise and tenon joints and well crafted construction of these shutters- I was hooked. Since that day, many wonderful preservation projects have come my way and I have developed a passion for making sure these wonderful buildings and the stories they tell endure for our future generations.
